Tiny Table Talks: Letting Go of Bitterness
This week in Tiny Table Talks, our children explored the idea of bitterness—both in taste and in our hearts. Using baking chocolate, they saw how something that looks sweet can actually be quite bitter, just like how holding onto hurt feelings can affect us.
We asked: Have you ever tasted something bitter? How did it make you feel? Then, we talked about how people can feel bitter too—when they hold onto anger or sadness. Have you ever felt so mad that it was hard to let go?
Through conversation and reflection, the children learned that forgiveness is a powerful tool to let go of bitterness and stay kind-hearted. As part of our focus on meditation, they took a quiet moment to breathe, be still, and reflect on releasing hurt feelings.
The next time you see a piece of chocolate, remember—when we hold onto negativity, it only makes us bitter. But when we choose forgiveness, we create space for joy and kindness. 💛
